FAQ: Software Development in Missions?
Saturday, July 15, 2006 @ 4:28 PM
We have found that some common questions are being asked, and over the next couple of weeks I am going to attempt to answer some of them for you.Q: Why are two software developer’s going on the mission’s field? Shouldn’t you be trying to share the gospel with someone rather than staring at a computer monitor all day?
A: First of all, it is the responsibility of all Christians everywhere to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, not just missionaries. So by no means would software development exclude Sarah or myself from telling people the good news.
Second, people serving in a technical support role are highly important to all missions work. The doctors, radio programmers, and trainers that carry out the worldwide ministry of HCJB World Radio would be unable to do their job without the support staff that develop and maintain the systems that these people use every day.
Having the technical skill sets that we do, Sarah and I are in a unique position to help provide these missionaries the critical tools that they need to continue the work that God has called them to.

If you have any additional questions please feel free to e-mail Sarah or myself.

Whatever you do, do it for the Lord!!
